5 Minute Makeup

Hey there!
I have a really simple makeup look for you today, it's quick and subtle enough for school, work, college, or anywhere really :)

1. After cleansing and moisturising (very important!) apply a face primer. I use No7 Shine Free Primer.

2. Apply concealer to blemishes and under-eye circles. I use Scarlett & Crimson Double Trouble Concealer and Gel in Medium.

3. Apply powder to set your face makeup. I use Maybelline Dream Matte Powder.

4. Apply a tinted lipbalm. I use Vaseline Lip Therapy Rosy Lips.

And that's it! This is the makeup I wear everyday to school, although we aren't allowed to wear makeup anymore :o
Feel free to add some eyeliner, I would but we're not allowed to wear makeup anymore to school (well, we are allowed to wear foundation to cover spots- I don't wear it though), and eyeliner would be too obvious.

Maybelline Dream Matte Powder Review

Hi!
This is the powder I am reviewing today:
Maybelline Dream Mousse Powder Golden Sand
I have it in the colour Golden Sand, which is the colour above.
This powder is actually kind of good! It's a bit more expensive than other powders, but ^.^ oh well .
I don't use the provided powder puff as it is RUBBISH. I use a powder brush instead :)

Pros:

  • Doesn't get cakey if you apply too much
  • Light, doesn't feel like you're wearing makeup
  • Keeps your face shine/oil free for a couple of hours
Cons:
  • The packaging is annoying! It's so complicated :O
  • The provided powder puff is not good, but you can always use a brush instead
  • After a couple of hours it wears off and your face gets oily again
  • Not a lot of product provided!
So overall it's a good powder. Not amazing... not terrible. As long as you reapply every couple of hours and use a powder brush it's nice. However I am on the look out for a better one, let me know if you know any good powders :)

Quick, Easy School/Work Hairstyles

Hi, today I am going to give you some ideas of school hairstyles/work hairstyles :)

 Messy Bun
This is really quick, suitable for mid-long hair and looks great :)
1. Leaving out bangs/fringe and any shorter hair at the front, grasp hair in a high ponytail.
2. Wrap a hair elastic around the ponytail as many times as possible and on the last turn loop it half-way. This will form a bun.
3. Tug at the bun from both sides and manipulate it to your liking (make it as messy as you like!)

High Ponytail with quiff/poof/bump

This hairstyle looks really sophisticated and chic!
1. Gather a section of hair at the front and tease/backcomb it (brush towards the roots to create volume).
2. Bring the backcombed area back, twist it and push it up to form a quiff. Secure with bobby pins.
3. Now that you have a quiff, tip your head upside down and secure hair in a high ponytail.

These are just a couple of easy ideas for you- request more hairstyles if you would like!

Barry M Instant Nail Effects Review

Hey there! This is my first post on this blog.
Today I am going to be reviewing a Barry M nail polish that I got the other day- Instant Nail Effects in Black Magic. Here's what it looks like:

Here is how to use it (the way I did it) and the end result on my nail.
1. Apply a clear base coat on the nail.

2. Apply 2 coats of desired nail polish colour. I used Berry I/C by Barry M.

3. Then, apply one thick coat of Barry M Instant Nail Effects- here is the end result on my nail! Pretty cool.
The result!

Sorry for the bad quality of the pic, was in a rush so did it on my mobile instead of my camera :)
